Recently, I operated on a 50-year-old man with diabetes who had lost vision in both eyes from severe bleeding.
With vitrectomy and laser treatment, his sight improved to 9/10.
But many patients donโt make it in time.
Diabetes steals vision silentlyโ and by the time they reach us, itโs often too late.
It is the leading cause of blindness in the working-age population.
And much of it is preventable.
